Our History

What Drives Us

Monarch Rabbitry, (formally known as Patches Rabbit Stud Dubbo) has been breeding rabbits since 2004 and exhibiting since 2007. I believe in breeding to the standards of perfection set out by the BRC (British Rabbit Council). In doing so, I am able to produce consistency in all my litters. Breeding to a standard does not mean that health is substituted in any way shape or form. I have worked extremely hard over the years to ensure that I keep any genetic issues (Such as teeth deformities, splayed hips etc) are not bred out of my rabbitry. Sometimes though, a baby will be born with a health issue and depending on that issue with either be put to sleep if their is a high chance of life long pain, or provided to a suitable non breeding home where they can live a long life as a much loved pet. Temperament has always been just as important as overall health to me and I am a strong believer that aggression is a behaviour bred in and will not keep an aggressive animal, especially since I have 4 children to think of.

Guiding Mission

Animal Welfare Come First

At Monarch Rabbitry, we strongly believe that abandon animals should take preference over any rabbit a breeder has bred. As such, before purchasing from a Breeder (including me), be sure to check out the Rabbit Sanctuary in Goulburn. It is a not for profit organisation that takes on abandoned and unwanted rabbits and either keeps them for life, or find them suitable homes.
